Chef Dr. Mike (CDM) is the gateway for people to awaken to a healthier relationship with food through the expertise of a medical doctor, the wisdom of a culinary medicine professor, and the passion of a professional chef.  He is the voice of Culinary Medicine. Unafraid to take a rebel stand, no one is more qualified to bust these commonly accepted myths than Dr. Michael Fenster (Chef Dr. Mike). One of less than twenty Physician-Chefs worldwide, Chef Dr. Mike is the only interventional cardiologist and Professor of Culinary Medicine. Chef Dr. Mike leads the way to multidisciplinary, evidence-based lifestyle choices that reestablish fundamental relationships to increase happiness, health, and wellness.

Chef Dr. Mike came to us seeking to become THE VOICE OF CULINARY MEDICINE. He had already published several books and appeared on numerous TV and news shows, but he did not have an established personal brand or online presence that shared who he was, his exceptional qualifications, and his expertise. No one is more qualified than Dr. Michael Fenster to claim the Authority of becoming the voice of clarity and wisdom for Culinary Medicine. He is an Interventional Cardiologist, a Professional Chef, and a Professor of Culinary Medicine at the University of Montana. Our challenge was to create an authority brand that showed his credibility as a medical doctor, chef, and professor so that people would listen to his wisdom about living a happier, healthier life by applying the Culinary Medicine principles he shares.

Strategy

While some people have built their business model solely around a book or books published, Trubrand focused on building the Chef Dr. Mike brand. He needed to be seen and experienced as an Authority to own the title of “The Voice of Culinary Medicine.”

Our Purpose and Brand Discovery sessions clarified his foundational brand choices and provided guardrails for developing his entire brand story, messaging, and visual branding. We helped him solidify his Purpose, positioning in his industry, and establishing consistent brand messaging and design across all marketing touchpoints. To meet his audience with engaging, relevant content, we launched a website that represents his brand and provides Chef Dr. Mike with a heightened online presence, promoting online courses in Culinary Medicine. Our social media strategy includes a highly diversified category approach that shares the plethora of content generated for and by Dr. Fenster.

Every creative decision furthered that intentional focus to grow his business and worldwide influence as a trusted, credible source. After the foundational online platforms and his automated marketing, CRM was in place; our strategy focused on leveraging both owned media and social channels to keep him top-of-mind for his audience and expand his influence and reach. As an influential leader, other brands would seek Chef Dr. Mike out for his knowledge and the brand association and credibility he brings to them, further elevating his reach and the value he commands in the market.

Chef Dr. Mike’s central content hub (his website) continues to draw his audience with an active blog sharing award-winning, chef-created receipts, exquisite imagery, and healthy living wisdom. The website also allows people to learn about Culinary Medicine through his University of Montana online courses and certifications. Conferences worldwide have invited Mike to speak as a keynote, and in November 2022, he will give his TedX talk about Ultra-Processed Foods and the havoc it is causing on the health of the global community. His TV Series pilot “House Calls with Chef Dr. Mike” aired for the first time on PBS in September 2022, and The Inc. Magazine featured him in “The 10 Most Inspiring CEOs making a difference in 2022”. His brand’s credibility and trust continue to play an essential role in taking his mission and vision to the next level. 

In Q3 of 2022, he launched IMBAS; Chef Dr. Mike and IMBAS President Ken Walsh and their team are offering Culinary Medicine programs with the hospital systems and healthcare professionals.
