Design – 2023 UTIMCO Annual Report

TruBrand has just reached the 25th anniversary of the start of our business partnership with The University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO). Since 1999, our creative work at TruBrand has continued to impress UTIMCO throughout the entire rebranding of their company, two website re-designs, twenty-four annual report packages–and throughout the succession of six CEOs. This year marks the 25th annual report that we have designed and produced. UTIMCO is the University of Texas Investment Management Company, the first nonprofit corporation formed by a public university. UTIMCO is the 3rd largest among schools in the country, preceded only by Harvard and Yale.

UTIMCO serves 13 academic institutions composed of over 400,000 students, ~25% of which are first-generation college students. In addition, we serve 8 world-class health institutions that care for over 2.7 million patients annually. One of these health institutions, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, was ranked #1 in cancer care by US News and World Report in 2022 for the 18th time in the past 21 years. In total, their institutions’ brilliant and dedicated minds develop over 250 patents and create over 45 companies every 12 months. UTIMCO takes great pride in the fact that the investment gains generated by the endowments are being used to help eradicate poverty through higher education, to help cure and care for patients with debilitating diseases, and to help fund world-class research.

While we are not responsible for UTIMCO’s excellent investment strategies or successes (and in no way trying to take credit for it), we’d like to say it has been an honor to have been able to support them and their marketing needs, every step of the way, for the past 25 years. In 2023, the UTIMCO endowment distributed approximately $ 2.3 billion to the institutions they serve.
